My central heating boiler is on its last legs
We've got another -10C night and more heavy snow due in the early hours tomorrow
*Have microwaveable wheaty-bag, will travel* LOL!
Although we too are struggling to keep roads clear this time, our council to their credit do very well for winter planning, they always have done - the problem is that we're high up, hilly and have a lot of roads to cover - many in rural areas. The Government gives extra money to councils like ours but because so much of our road system is rural, we lose out and don't receive anywhere near as much central funding as we need - the council have been arguing with the Government for years about this.

yes I got your pressies thank you!!! I posted on the other thread but you must have missed me.
The decorations looked great on my tree and I love the little cup - I'm going to use that when I need really strong coffee LOL!
And the calendar is about to go on my study wall - I just need to find a couple of small nails so I can hang it.
Even the stamps were fab too - I collect stamps and don't have many - if any - from South Africa so all round I'm 'dead chuffed'!

We've got around 12" here. The council are low on salt so are only treating the major roads. It's very hilly here so even the small amount of snow on other roads causes serious problems.
It's a bit nippy - about -10C (14F)! Brrrrrr!!

...i heard him use gods name, jehovah, many times on his programs (i'm not sure on his books...i havent read any of them).. imo- i think he's one of the best preachers out there.... if you dont know him , check him out on www.intouch.org.

i remember seeing on a site critical of the nwt a letter handwritten by a greek scholar around 1950-ish that stated jehovah's witnesses hate jesus christ.. if you know which site or which professor, please share it here.. i believe the professor was from northwest(ern?

Does Your Life Have Purpose?

witnesses teach that when you learn the "truth", you finally have a purpose in life.. when some witnesses decide to leave the religion, they might experience an emptiness because they realize now that their way of life really was totally a sham.. are jehovah's witnesses right about those that leave the organization no longer having a purpose in life?.

Nope!
And if they knew God's ways even half as much as they claim, they'd know that isn't true. He doesn't create anything in vain, even the 'bad' people in the Bible had a purpose - so that his glory might be displayed.
Sorry for preachin' to make my point LOL!

Here's what my trawling has turned up:
Bruce Metzger wrote an article in the April 1953 edition of Theology Today entitled "Jehovah's Witnesses and Jesus Christ"
There are a few other Greek scholars mentioned in this link too:

The seminary you mentioned has apparently only been in existence since 1980 so that would eliminate your first thought. Many of the more well-known theologians are from Princeton.
